Born in Germany, Frank Rumpf has been a travel writer for more than 20 years. Until 2007, he was the editor of the travel section of "Welt am Sonntag", Germany’s leading Sunday paper. He now works as managing director for the leading German news agency dpa in Hamburg. He has written travel books on Hamburg, Chicago, the South Sea (with Volker Mehnert), modern-day air travel and the logistics of travelling. His travel stories have been published in "Welt am Sonntag", "Frankfurter Allgemeine" and "Handelsblatt" among others. North America (Alaska), Asia and Spain (Mallorca) are his favorite travel destinations.
